Talk:Ami's Song

From Shifti

I hate to be That Guy, but since the original poster said "I don't own this, wish I did", shouldn't it be removed per Shifti:Copyrights? Phaedrus 05:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Indeed, quite right. Alex, do you know the original author and/or can you contact him for permission? If not, this will quite sadly have to be removed (it's an old favorite of mine too so I don't say that with any eagerness, sigh). If it's up somewhere else on the 'net feel free to put external links to it anywhere on Shifti that they might reasonably go, links are fine. But we can't copy without permission. Putting a link on the Xanadu category page would make a lot of sense; that way people interested in the setting would still find the story. Phaedrus 06:03, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
As I noted when the stories originally went up they will be removed if/when we receive a complaint. I recall this being on the 'kickaha' site (sadly all I can remember about the site is that part of the URL) and even when I had the official Xanadu archive fully functional I was unable to contact the original author. IIRC it was listed by 'Kickaha' (author of "Liquid Courage") as being by a friend. I am unsure, but it might have been the same friend whose suicide had him (her?) halt all work on "Liquid Courage". -- ShadowWolf 12:27, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

The original author of this story is a mystery person even on the website it was on. I'm hoping that whoever wrote this story WILL appear and come foreword so they can be credited for their work!!! And the website this story was on was destroyed by some hacker who left a obscene gesture in it's place. If I hadn't downloaded these stories YEARS ago back when the website was still up BECAUSE something like that could happen, this story would no longer exist at all! I WANT to talk to whoever wrote this story, so I can finally tell'em how fantastic it is!!! -- Alex Warlorn Sept 3 2009
